“All animals are dogs, apparently”

Films: Pete's Dragon (2016)

Alias: The Millhaven Dragon

Type: Mystical

Location: Forest

Height/Weight: Twice that of a tank.

Affiliation: Good

Summary: You know what really grinds our gears? Some wiseacre saying that if an animal isn't cuddly-looking or looks like some kind of mammal, it isn't lovable. Only a fool believes in such nonsense, and unfortunately, such a fool was put in the director's seat for this remake of a divisive Disney flop from the same year "Star Wars" was released. But you know what? We'll put aside our bias for now and see it for what it is. And for what it's worth, it's passable.

History: Somewhere in the woods of the pacific northwestern town of Millhaven, there are rumors of a dragon. Many dismiss this all as myth, but it is there, and its best friend is an orphan named Pete. The boy named the dragon Elliot, after a puppy from a book, and since the two met, they have been inseparable. But now, there are not only people looking for Elliot to prove the legend true once and for all, but Pete's ended up in the local town. All of this will prove to be a test of their bond.

Notable Kills: None.

Final Fate: After much chaos involving people chasing Pete and Elliot, the dragon lets loose and burns the big bridge they're all on with his fire. However, no one gets hurt, and Elliot parts with Pete so that the boy will no longer be in danger. Many years down the line, and both Pete and his new family see that Elliot has found other dragons.

Powers/Abilities: Fire breath and camouflage.

Weakness: Anything conventional.

Scariness Factor: 1.5-We could go at length how it was a cowardly move to not make Elliot more reptilian in appearance, but at this point, perhaps we've been spoiled by having so many. Elliot isn't a scary dragon. Sure, he's huge and can be incredibly powerful, but he's a good soul overall. It helps that he's like a big winged bear/dog mix.

Trivia: -In the original film, Elliot was completely 2D-animated, and was a lot more goofy, as well as reptilian in looks. He also had purple hair as opposed to just purple spots.

-Apparently, the effects guys at WETA Workshop just took an early model of Smaug, and modified it to make Elliot. Also, they have stated that he's vegan.
